Mass Manipulation – How it Works

According to Henry Kisinger, “Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. What if there is a means to deliberately encourage and manage how we behave and change our understaning of what is real? Advertising influences our buying habits. The use of propaganda to shape beliefs is widely recognized. Psychiatry and psycology study how the human mind is affected by stimuli. "One of the key principles of economic behaviorism ... is that humans are both biologically determined due to their Darwinian impulses, but, unlike other animals, have the fatal flaw of being fundamentally irrational at their core. Since humans are fundamentally irrational, says the behaviorist, it is requisite that an enlightened elite impose “order” upon society while maintaining the illusion of freedom of choice from below." 2. WORDS ARE POWERFUL: THE KEY TO INFLUENCING A GROUP IS THE CLEVER USE OF LANGUAGE

3. ANY MEDIUM OF COMMUNICATION IS ALSO A MEDIUM FOR PROPAGANDA

4. REITERATING THE SAME IDEA OVER AND OVER CREATES HABITS AND CONVICTIONS

5. THINGS ARE NOT DESIRED FOR THEIR INTRINSIC WORTH, BUT RATHER FOR THE SYMBOLS THAT THEY REPRESENT

Hitler's propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, taught us that if you tell a lie enough times, it will be accepted as the truth.  It is obviously also true that different spins on facts and stories can be individually tailored to each individual's demonstrated tastes.  Paul Simon penned the lyric "A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."  We watch and listen to news feeds that tell us what we want to hear.  We never tune in to the others. Now consider the notion that a conspiracy exists to use such means to condition, influence and control us to act toward a specific political outcome. For example, CIA’s Operation Mockingbird was a precursor of US manipulation of world public opinion (see here). Are We, the People, 'free thinkers' or manipulated to accept particular political beliefs and choose specific actions?
